There really will not be any place for you to go to that is not risky-- places like banks do not lend money for personal reasons like to buy gifts. Try calling your credit card company. Or you could go to the bank and secure a line of credit. My mother did that in a similar situation.

Also, try your local church/synagogue, etc. My local church will give small loans to people who show proof of need, and I%26#039;m sure others do also. Or maybe your church/ local community organization has one of those trees where you submit a request and someone fulfills it for the child.
