Cash or Check why paying for a car???

When paying a down payment on a used car at a dealership do you pay with a check or pay in cash, can you do both or is one better than the other.

u can do either one, but i would recommend using a check because that way u have a record of paying, if u give cash there is no record unless they give u a receipt,no matter what make sure u get a receipt that way they can%26#039;t say u didn%26#039;t pay, had a dealer ship do that to me once

my parents go half and half|||you can use both check is easier to carry than a wad of bills|||go with the check so there is another record of the transaction|||If paying by check at least you have a paper trail.|||I always use check or debit for anything that%26#039;s high cost. If you pay cash you have nothing to prove that you ever paid it. If you pay cash, guard that receipt with your life!|||Cashier%26#039;s checks direct from your bank are the best bet because dealership won%26#039;t have to wait for them to clear.|||Check. If you must use cash, make sure you get a rock-solid signed, dated, detailed receipt.
